Member Update August 2021

Dear Members

We hope that you are all safe and well and hanging in there during these difficult times.

We are writing to provide you with an update regarding the 2021 Winter season, 2021 Spring Competition and Beacon Hill Netball Club activities for the rest of this year. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic, MWNA, like other community sport organisations, have been left with no choice other than to cancel the remainder of the 2021 Winter season and the 2021 Spring Competition.

MWNA has advised that the Winners of the 2021 Winter competition will be declared based on the ladder at the end of Game 7 (Round 1). Winner trophies will be awarded to the winning team of each grade.  NetSetGo(NSG) medals will also be distributed to all NSG teams.

We appreciate that this is another disappointing end to the season for our players, umpires, managers, coaches, and parents who have worked so hard to have a successful season this year after an interruptive 2020 season. In light of this abrupt end to the Winter season and the ongoing COVID 19 related Public Health Orders, we have made the decision to cancel our normal end of season activities, including:

·      NetSetGo 5-7 Program
·      Presentation Day Awards Ceremony

With the cancellation of our Presentation Day Awards Ceremony, no individual, team or perpetual awards will be awarded this year. We will however still recognise the wonderful achievements of our members who have achieved their Service Award milestone this year.  We will be in touch with award recipients and our premiership teams over the coming weeks.

In acknowledgement of the shortened season and the cancellation of our Presentation Day Awards Ceremony our Club will be providing all our returning 2021 registered players with a discount on their 2022 Winter registration fee.

MWNA are planning a few Gala Day and Come & Try events should restrictions be lifted on community sports. Full details of these events will be decided in the weeks ahead and of course, if Public Health Orders allow us to return to community sport.

We’d like to thank each and every one of you for your support throughout this year and we hope to see you all back on the courts in 2022.

Beacon Hill Netball Committee

Volunteers are vital to ensuring our club runs smoothly so that our players have the best netball experience they can.

With the stepping down of our current Secretary and Registrar at the end of 2021 we have several vacant positions to fill this year. Calling all budding board members! Come and join our club to help run a fabulous community Not for Profit organisation and gain valuable experience.

We are also looking for volunteers to join the General Committee to assist with things like organising Grading Day, Club Duties, the coordination of Umpires Roster, and organising Social Events.

Role descriptions can be found on our website:

If you can lend a hand in any way, be it at the courts or behind the scenes, please feel free to contact Deb Harris at or Sherrie-Ann Greaves at
